Keeping abreast of cutting edge technologies is also key.  Relatively speaking Archviz is a young industry and although its roots are deeply embedded in the long standing representational modes of architecture and engineering, the hardware, software and technical craft we use, continues to evolve at a rapid pace, opening up new and exciting possibilities. The experience and skills we bring to bear are essential, however our mindset always remains that of students in our craft.

Dorian Farr (founder) is an Architectural Visualiser with over 30 years of experience.  He graduated from Melbourne’s RMIT School of Architecture with Honours ( 1st class ) in 2004, working as a graduate architect for five years prior to committing himself to his area of specialisation.  He has worked for architectural firms such as Denton Corker Marshall (Melbourne), Decibel Architects (Melbourne) and Esquisse Design Studio (Sydney), and has experience with Archviz studios such as Apple Retail (Cupertino, California), Steelblue (San Francisco, California) and Last Pixel (Perth).  Dorian has produced renderings and animations for nearly every major real estate developer and architect in Australia.  Dorian’s deep interest in visual design communication keeps him focussed on understanding the needs and desires of his clients and their audience.  His passion for art, photography, filmmaking and technology, transfers directly into every project he undertakes.  Dorian established Shadowlab 2014.
